Enjoy the Changing Beauty Over Time
Rienzome tenugui is made to last.
As you use it, the fabric softens, and the colors settle into a deeper, richer tone.
It’s an item that you can grow with, making it a cherished part of your daily life.
In a world filled with disposable goods, we believe in valuing things that stay with us for a long time.
The Artisan’s Craftsmanship
Each Rienzome tenugui is carefully hand-dyed using the traditional Chusen dyeing method, which is recognized as an important craft technique in Japan.
From stencil cutting to dyeing and finishing, most of the process is done by skilled artisans.
This meticulous craftsmanship brings warmth to the fabric and gives it a beautifully rich color.
Soft and Comfortable Cotton Fabric
Made from 100% cotton, this tenugui is lightweight, durable, and highly absorbent.
It quickly soaks up moisture and dries fast, making it perfect for everyday use.
Use it as a handkerchief, wrap it around your neck, or even as a baby bib—it’s a versatile item for all occasions.
About the Design
The Karakusa (arabesque vine) pattern came to Japan through China and Korea along with Buddhist art.
Its continuously extending vines symbolize longevity, prosperity, and vitality.

About Fraying
The edges of the tenugui are left unsewn for faster drying and better hygiene.
At first, the edges may fray slightly, but you can simply trim the loose threads with scissors.
Over time, the frayed edges naturally form a soft fringe, making the fabric more durable.
Care Instructions
・Due to the traditional Chusen dyeing technique, color transfer may occur, especially when exposed to sweat or friction.
・Hand wash separately in plenty of water.
・Reshape and hang dry after washing.
・Avoid soaking in water for long periods.
・The fabric may shrink slightly due to its cotton material.
