Dragonfly – Blue Green – Magnetic Brooch (Austrian Metal Art)

This brooch is individually handcrafted using pure gold-coated wire, a material used in the traditional Austrian craft “Klosterarbeiten.”

The artist, Hiyoshi Katayama, designs and creates each piece entirely by hand. Because of this handmade process, each piece has its own unique character, even when created in the same design.

While made of metal, the brooch has a delicate and airy quality, with the fine wirework giving it a distinctive presence.

Over time, the gold tones deepen, developing a beautiful antique-like character.

A strong magnet is used as the fastener, so it can be attached without piercing clothing or bags.
The motif and magnet are connected with a chain to help prevent the brooch from falling or getting lost.

It is easy to adjust the position or remove, making it perfect for hats, coats, bags, and more.

When not worn as a brooch, it can also be displayed as a small piece of art on your favorite frame, basket, or other decorative item.

In Japan, the dragonfly has long been known as “kachimushi” (勝ち虫), or “victory insect,” because it is traditionally believed to move only forward and never backward.

As time passes, the gold tones gradually deepen in character.
