Mizuhiki – Moon Viewing Frame – Awaji Knot Moon
This art frame is inspired by Tsukimi (月見), the Japanese moon-viewing tradition.
It features the bright autumn moon, rice stalks offered as a prayer for a good harvest, and a rabbit quietly gazing at the moon — all expressed through the traditional Japanese art of Mizuhiki.
The meaning of the knots
The moon is made by connecting Awaji knots, which symbolize longevity and the bonds between people.
Its shape resembles hands joining together in a gentle circle.
The rice stalks are created with Hana knots and Oikake knots, continuous patterns that carry the wish for abundance and prosperity.
The rabbit, a familiar motif in Japanese moon-viewing, is based on the Matsu knot.
This knot embodies prayers for long life, prosperity, and health.

Even in a busy life, taking a moment to look up at the moon can bring a quiet sense of calm.
This frame is made to bring that seasonal feeling into your home, so you can enjoy the peaceful glow of autumn every day.
